Digital Governance
& Management

Get in Touch

Go-live is just the start

You need to protect your investment. After all, you’ve ploughed a lot of money, time and effort into your new website. It’s taken a lot of work to get the design, information architecture and content all just right. You’ve planned out user journeys, defined CTAs and set KPIs, tested all the tagging, done the QA, got management approval and have finally… launched.

But this is no time to sit back and relax. This is when your governance strategy needs to kick in.

By defining and documenting what stakeholders are and are not allowed to do on the new website, you set the rules of engagement. Workflows reduce friction, inspire confidence in processes and trust overall. They’re also so useful for those moments when you need to push back. And remember, your design and editorial style guides are key to all of this. Good governance is important whether you’re a team of two or a team of 200.

Multiple websites in multiple languages

Let’s be blunt. If you run websites either globally or regionally, you won’t survive without a governance strategy. Regardless of which technology your platform is built with, you’ll need a Master and inheritance strategy. You’ll need workflows and processes for localisation that go beyond simple translation.

You’ll also need to bring people from different cultures and levels of digital experience with you. This is why regular communication, best practice guides and training are so key. After all – and we know this from experience – stakeholders who you engage with will produce better results.

Establishing a governance framework should never hinder your process but rather help your team to be more efficient and effective.
