Tamara, a Canadian with east coast roots, studied Fashion Merchandising and went on to have an exciting fashion career in Toronto at some “pretty cool” companies.
Having started off in the wholesale and retail side of the business she moved on to the innovative fashion week events, where she coordinated the trade component – buyer recruitment, exhibition set-up, and the speakers forum.
She was the marketing director for Toronto’s – then most high-end – shopping centre where she was responsible for marketing strategy, events, sponsorships, CRM, customer service, advertising and PR. She also worked as Senior Account Manager at Canada’s go-to PR agency for cosmetic and fragrance launches.
After moving to Zurich, she joined Chevrolet for its launch into the European market working on the new corporate identity, sponsorship and merchandising. She then took on the huge task of building up a digital marketing centre of excellence for 38 countries.
Over the course of 10 years she led an (admittedly) amazing team through three major website redesigns including General Motor’s first ever responsive websites. She also established GM’s best in class implementation of SiteCatalyst metrics and analytics, including attribution modelling, SEO & PPC, content management and display – not to mention social media and email marketing.
Tamara was awarded General Motors Global Team Player Award for her role in establishing a global SEO strategy, which she and I developed for Chevrolet Europe. She won several shopping centre promotions awards from the International Council of Shopping Centers.
